Give It Up for Garage Sales!

Okay, so today's junking trip started out slow. But check out the gorgeous oil painting I ended up scoring at an unpublicized estate sale I found by accident! It's painted on linen, but I can't quite tell how old it is... Just goes to show, the best planning just never works as planned. Oh, and I swung by a guy who sells a lot of old paintings - he offered me double the money I spent - on the spot. I declined gracefully. So it must be worth something!

I also nailed this little poppy plaque for a dollar, plus two plate stands! (I have a thing for poppies, reminds me of art nouveau style.)

Earlier in the day, I scooped up some Asian greeting cards printed by the Los Angeles Museum of Art for a dollar. Probably shoulda bargained them down, but oh well.

Last purchase of the day: cute little Asian basket from my fave thrift store. Planning to use it to corral some of the jetsam and flotsam
that accumulates on my dresser.

  1. I couldn't agree with you more. I find my best items at garage sales, and they're much more fun, don't you think! Love your lady! Thanks for the visit and follow! Stan

  2. Thanks, Stan!! Much more fun, I agree! There's the thrill of the chase! The drama of the sale that you discover while driving by! The amazing deals doled out by overheated sellers who just want it *gone.*
